Octopus Tattootee.
July 12, 2007I am infatuated with tattoos. Today Christopher told me he was going to get a black and white octopus tattooed along the length of his left arm. We were texting and both bored at work. I didn’t believe him, but after three hours of convincing I began to believe and I began to get super excited.
My co-workie Ryan and I spent most of the late morning looking up octopus tattoos and I got fixated like I sometimes do, my brain bouncing with tattoo ideas. Christopher was kidding, I was right in initially thinking that, he was bored at work and isn’t getting an awesome tattoo for me swoon over on Saturday. However I came home and basically used my one track mind to do the absolutely pointless task of designing an octopus tattoo and refining the whale tattoo I want.
I love whales. I’m thinking about making the whale big with a spout carrying a pirate ship like this: Some guy’s enviable tattoo. The basic layout would be a very simple whale in black outline, with the eventual spout morphing from simple to more and more complicated with the pirate ship at the top being complex, bright, and amazing. The location would probably be on my right hip with the water carrying the ship over to my back. My dreams are big but I am scared of permanence.
